It was a soft spring night, my eyes were well adjusted to the darkness. This was my kind of scenery. A light breeze, gentle noises from the creatures in the night. My hooves picked over the ground, finding my way deeper into the home of Revrend, a stallion I had met not that long ago.
It had been hard for me to find the place, I wasn't really confident enough to ask for directions. Even though the lead stallion had irritated me at our first meeting, I had agreed to take my place here. Sighing inwardly, I let my eyes search for who I was looking for.
Above me, the stars sparkled across the wide, night sky. For once, the clouds had disappeared breaking way to beauty. I smiled at myself, using all of my senses to navigate myself. My ears switched back and forth, taking in my breathing, my hoof beats, the scatter of animals around me. The hairs on my skin felt the bushes, the wind playing with my mane.
Smiling, I inhaled deeply. I could clearly smell Revrend's scent, amongst the spring rain and blossoming plants. At first, I felt uneasy and I definitely knew I already didn't want to face my new leader. I had been comfortable with my family herd, but I guess it was time for me to reach out.
Letting my chest expand with my nostrils, I finally picked a small clearing in which I could talk to the hot shot himself in peace. Glancing once again at the sky, I felt chilly and skittish. I had gotten so used to being alone that the sudden company had made me so flustered. The thought of company made me think of Shie Lhu, I wonder where she went off too. I hoped to see her again, she had been so nice to me, so motherly.
Forcing myself not to frown, I tilted my head back down and got a good look at the shadows before me. He could be watching me right now, but it was impossible. My acute and accurate sense of smell, sight, and hearing told me he wasn't. Yeah, I was different, I took care of my senses like a blind horse took care of his hearing. Pawing at the ground, I finally decided to call for him. My young and yet masculine-like neigh rang out, stirring once sleeping animals. Hopefully, Revrend would come.
